Screws, Pins or a Drive-in Spike
The Infinity Galvanised Steel rainwater range offers you a variety of methods for fixing the downpipe to the wall. There will be one to suit your property construction.
Our standard galvanised Steel downpipe clip or bracket available in plain galvanised and 5 other colours (Black, Anthracite Grey, Dusty Grey, White and Sepia Brown (shown below)) and 2 sizes 80mm & 100mm fixes the downpipe with 2 screws 25mm from the wall.
Any slight variance can be accommodated with the use of wooden bobbins that can easily be cut down to a couple of mm if required.
Downpipe Bracket with M10 Boss: GST_M10
Rainclear have also taken into stock, for next day delivery, a downpipe clip/bracket with an M10 Boss (socket) and 3 lengths of M10 Screw to accommodate a considerably greater variance in the surface or façade of the wall the downpipe is being fixed to.
Self tapping ‘Pin’ Screw and Cap
Not held in stock but available from our manufacturers should your project require it, is the self tapping ‘Pin’ Screw and Cap with M10 threaded tip to attach it to the downpipe bracket with M10 Boss (socket) – available in 300mm, 250mm, 200mm, 140mm and 80mm lengths.
Plus the long-shaft wall plug/or dowel for the pin screw - for fastening through insulating layers -available in 280mm, 240mm and 180mm.
If you are interested in this product for your project ask what lead times may apply.
We obviously consider all these options a more secure and robust fixing than just driving a spike into a pilot hole with a hammer.
“a good strong solution”
How one of our customers describes the M10 boss and screw bracket solution in a discussion on the Green Building Forum. He also says
“I used resin to embed the threaded part of the fixing… The stone here in my universe is mudstone and very hard but with a good sds drill I can put a hole into it with no problem”
